Classic Car Event Comes To The Byrd Theatre

 If you are a fan of classic cars and enjoy seeing movies at The Byrd Theatre in Carytown, then you do not want to miss this event. On Wednesday night September the 14th, this amazing vehicle and the movie telling it's story will be shown at The Byrd. 'The Quest' is the acclaimed feature-length documentary about the Corvettes that raced at the legendary 24 Hours of LeMans Endurance Race for the first time in 1960.

                                                           'The Quest' re-visits the 1960 race through color film shot at the time. It also re-creates what happened to each of the four Corvettes after they disappeared for decades. Never before seen footage, photos and interviews help bring this amazing story to life. As collectors and restorers recognized the historical importance of the former racing Corvettes, they went looking for them. Chip Miller, renowned collector and co-founder of Corvettes at Carlisle, set a goal of finding and acquiring the #3 class-winning 1960 Corvette...with a dream of restoring it and taking it back to LeMans in 2010, with John Fitch, one of its original drivers. Within only a few years of completing his dream, Chip Miller died from an extremely rare disease called amyloidosis. His goal was cut short in 2004. But his son, Lance, picked up Chip's quest and took the car and its driver back to LeMans in June of 2010...marking 50 years of Corvette Racing at LeMans...and fulfilling his late father's dream. A heart-warming story of visions cut short, obstacles to success and a son's love of his father, 'The Quest' has something for everyone...whether hard core car enthusiast or someone who just loves a good story.

A portion of each ticket sale will go to the Chip Miller Charitable Foundation for their efforts in aiding research and awareness of amyloidosis...the rare disease that took Chip Miller's life. Haley Toyota Certified Center Welcomes New Employees

We are proud to announce 3 new additions to our sales department here at the Haley Toyota Certified Center. We are really excited to have Megan Woo, Johnny Joyner, and Waleed "Wally" Akbar joining our company. Our new employees have undergone extensive training and are very capable of helping you with your next vehicle purchase.

 Megan Woo

Megan graduated from Virginia Tech in May 2010 with a degree in communications. While at Tech, Megan served internships for news channels from 2 local stations in Roanoke. She was also on the staff and edited photos for the Virginia Tech yearbook. Megan also had the treat to work at Walt Disney World in Orlando as part of a summer college program. "The greatest experience I've had so far was doing the Disney College Program in Walt Disney World. That's something I would never forget. I learned so much from so many people, and working there was great because I made some one's day. Johnny Joyner

 Johnny is a retired pharmaceutical sales representative and has traveled extensively. Johnny lives in the Brandermill area of Midlothian and enjoys spending his spare time with his fiance' and grand children. Johnny is an avid tennis player and also enjoys playing golf. Waleed "Wally" Akbar
 Wally is a recent graduate of VCU with a degree in Business Administration. Wally is a real car enthusiast.He is an active member and contributor on the Vadriven.com website forum. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with his wife and their young son, Sam. "I learned many customer service skills by working in my family's business while going to college.
